Why Heart Healing?

Good question! And the simple answer is "because we are all wounded," but that is a blog for another time. So if we can take that foundational concept, that we have all been hurt, disappointed, frustrated, fearful, anxious, letdown, misunderstood… Then let's talk about the implications of that. In the word, we are told to "love the Lord your God, with all your heart, all your soul, all your might" (Deuteronomy 6:4-6 and Matt 22:37 (mind) and Mark 12:30, 33). The word also says "you have wounds that you have not healed, pressed out. They have become infected, and the whole body is weak" (Isaiah 1:6) so, if I want to give the Lord my entire heart, I want to give him my heart so he can heal it, (Psalm 147: 3) and I also want to give him my most healed self, so that he can turn around and give me to the people he has called me to serve and love (1 Samuel 12:24)
The word also says that “out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks” (Matthew 12:34). I want my heart healed, so that I can speak in love and kindness and compassion. I want my heart healed so that I can speak life and not death (Proverbs 18:21) I want my heart healed so that I can speak with wisdom. I want my heart healed, so that when I worship, the words that I worship with reflect the depth of love and gratitude and truth and freedom stored in my heart. I had a season when worship was flat, boring and almost painful to have to sit through to get to the message. As I received healing, walked in the process, not even focusing on “making worship better”- worship started to get better, and the love for God that I knew was in my heart, was reflected in my times of worship.
The word talks about our enemies. Their leader is the father of lies (John 8:44), and he comes to "kill, steal, and destroy” (John 10:10). And we can often see the results of this- believing the lies: the death and destruction of our hearts. In Jeremiah 17:9, which says "the heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?” We might consider saying… "The unhealed heart is deceitful above all things". I want my heart healed so that I do not believe the lies, so that I am not deceitful, so that I don't have blind spots. I heard a “story” about someone the other day, and my first response was to say “I knew it”, but I quickly checked MY HEART, and recognized that that was NOT in line with their character, but had touched a hurt and lie in my heart that needed to be healed.
These are just some of the reasons to pursue heart healing and start your path to freedom:
Serve people well, speak in love, kindness and compassion, speak with wisdom, worship from love and gratitude, truth and freedom, recognize lies, avoid being deceived, and avoid blind spots.
If these are some of the desires of your heart, you are in the right place. We are honored and blessed that you're here and we can walk this journey with you.
